Biography

     
With constant persistance, Ajuana has spread her soulful and earthy vocals around the Bay Area singing and performing in R&B, hip-hop,& gospel generes. She has graced the San Francisco venues like: The Great American Music Hall, Fillmore, & Slims & blessed the stages from Los Angeles to New York where she performed at SOB's where she performed with Bicasso who is apart of Living Legends!
  

Where Her Journey Began...

"The Little Orange Piano"
Ajuana's(a-wa-na) yearning for the stage began at 4years old with her unrelentless request to play the piano. She remembers," I just begged and begged my mom to play the piano!" With her mother's offering of a little orange piano, Ajuana began her magnificent journey towards the musical and dramatic stage. Ajuana also reflects, " When I was four, I felt this deep desire to want to play the piano. dance all over the place, and sing! I told my mother, "That's what I'm gonna do Mommy!" Step by step, note by note, and line by line, this performance driven child began to immerse herself into plays and musical theatre any chance that came her way.

The Main Stage...
Rooted in the fertile grounds of Oakland, California, Ajuana (a-wa-na) has groomed her innate talent for the stage by starring in musicals such as Dream Girls (Lorrell), which included Dorian Wilson from the hit sitcom The Parkers, Go Down Garvey, which included Sharon Neal who recently played in the movie Dream Girls as well as the Tyler Perry movie, Why Did I get Married? Once On This Island (Timoune), & Aint Misbehavin' (Charlene)!

Ajuana continues her trailblazing stage career by finishing up a one-woman developmental tour play entitled Queen Calafia, Ruler of California, written & produced by African-American historian John Templeton!


Commercials & television appearances are also apart of Ajuana's extensive performing career. One of her most memorable TV roles has been the role of Johnnie Gibson as a teenager in the CBS movie, The Johnnie Gibson Story; which included the wonderful actress Lynn Whitefield from Martin Lawrence's Thin Line between Love & Hate & Tyler Perry's  Madea's Family Reunion!
